Derby - Windjana & return or Fitzroy Crossing to Windjana & return

Hi, we are travelling from
Kununurra -
Derby via the highway in August. We have a 4WD but will be towing an on road van, hence no GRR, however we would like to go to
Windjana Gorge & Tunnel Ck with our tent. We are obviously going to have to back track one way or the other. Is there a preferred way to go - either leave the van at
Fitzroy Crossing and go in from there or go on to
Derby and then head back? Also where to leave the van for a couple of nights in either place would be appreciated too. Thanks Rachael

Did the GRR and
Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek last year - much of a muchness where you leave your van but whatever you do, don't miss either
the Gorge or
Tunnel Creek - they were highlights of our trip.
The Lodge Caravan Park at
Fitzroy Crossing is a great park and
well worth staying at - they have heaps of room and would probably accommodate leaving your van there better that the parks in
Derby.
If your want to catch Cherabin, try drop nets with chook pellets near the highway
bridge.

Thanks Scoey, I had a look at
the Lodge website, it does look nice so will probably stay there. We've heard alot about Tunnel Ck & Windjana so don't want to miss them. Less than a month till we head off now, are really looking forward to it. Cheers Rachael
