Good day John P8,

check this http://www.exploroz.com/NSW/Outback_NSW/Roads.aspx It's about 12th from the top.

Along the top of this page hover your mouse over treks and three things will drop down. The third is Check Road Conditions, click that, then click the State you want. Next click the part of the Satte you want and scroll down. Sorted.

That's a handy link, but only tells if the roads are open or closed, the comments about this road are some years out of date. Like johnp8 we're interested in traversing the road as well and would appreciate any comments from recent travellers.

It might be an idea to give the local Police a call.
I'm not sure who the Copper is now, but they usually have a good idea of the road conditions around there.

I should have said call the Tibooburra Police. They cover area you need.
You'll find them in the white pages, or contact Broken Hill Police for their details.

Thanks Steve
will check sites again. As dingbat says info considerably out of date so thought someone may have been recently and put up their hand.
Guess contacting police is another option.
Have experienced Tiboorburra across to Strezleki last year when just opened after the rain so thought wise to check while in planning stage.

Thanks Wayne
That would be very helpful. We leave Tas on the 19th and will take a few days getting across. Want to take alternate route early if it's not suitable to head that way.
