Hi Peter,
Great to talk to you last night. I have now received an update from Matt Rogers on this
matter.
Council received a complaint about camping activities at the
Kendall Showground and it
is now apparent that there is no record of an approval for this use of the Showground.
As a consequence of discussions on this issue with representatives of the Show Society
the implications of developer contributions has been raised. The Show Society are
concerned about the affordability of these contributions, which would be payable as
part of any new development approval issued for a
campground on the showground.
In recognition of this concern and the suggestion that an approval may have been issued
in the 1970's, Council staff are working with representatives of the Show Society to
determine if an approval can be located in the Society or Council archives with the
intention of resolving this matter. Should an approval not be in existence, Council
will need to discuss other options for addressing the developer contributions
affordability issue with the Show Society.

It has been a few weeks [May14] since the motorhome /Caravan fraternity has any
update on
Kendall Showground as a primative
camp ground.
