Just be aware with these organisations that they have a weight, length limit on what they cover. It will depend how big the van is as to whether they will cover it. The car will be no problem.

Their is 4wd specific insurance companies, advertise in the 4wd action mag.
get the terms your after, just the cost.
if the jeeps a diesel you should be right, from mercedes after all.

except BAD FUEL, wa is the worst as any reported incidents of bad fuel causing pump failure have to be reported to the authorities.

like a aftermarket system, if your really going to travel around, on and off.
water watch set up, christies engineering.

well have a brilliant trip, i just have to find a "navigator" and ill be off myself, one day.

Hi all,
Let me tell a little story, in 1998 mom and dad set off from rural s.a. on a 5 month trip around australia in there cm chrysler and big roadstar caravan. Two weeks later in darwin dad had 2 heart attacks on friday arvo. They stabized him but had to air freight him to adelaide on saturday as they could not do open heart surgery in darwin. I knew dad was in the RAA aussie assist. I rang the RAA at 9.30 am. and explained the situation. They asked me for his doctors name and told me to stay by the phone. At 10.00am they rang me and said they had organized for mom to be on a midday flight flight out of darwin, the car and caravan would be packed up at 3pm at the caravan park and put on a semi trailer. It arrived at my doorstep in rural SA 5 days later. no charge for anything. I dont know iff the level of service has changed but every vehicle i have is insured with the RAA with aussie assist. absolutly amazing, i will be forever grateful. cheers mark
