A good idea is to place a standard light some 20-30 mts away from camp.
(just some small low drain type of ordinary light)
The bugs ect, will be attracted to it, and leave you alone even more.

I actually do that when the bugs are really bad. I have a 7amp battery and run another versa lite some distance away. You are right it works a treat. These coloured lenses really help when you must have a light under the annex.
