Just trying to find any owners to get an opinion of the 490. Mine is hooked up to a 200 series cruiser . With all our gear and 4 bods were at 5.2 t all iup ,so interested in what others are getting in fuel consumption. Thinking of heading up to alice and over to Birdsville soon. @00 has 270 lt fuel tank. Any comments would be great positive or negative . Ta

Hi Stephen,

I have a 200 towing a Quantum, slightly larger than a 490 and weighing in at ~2T. I average 18L/100km at a steady 100 km/hr, but will get to 20 L/100km if small hills or a headwind. And if really hilly, will easily hit 24 l/100km, but thats still at a steady 100 km/hr regardless of hill size - gotta luv that twin turbo V8 :)

Cheers

THanks for that info. JUst came back from Barrington Tops NSw, very hilly up there averaged 24.5lts per 100kms so its about right compared with your setup. Hows the Quantum?

Hi Steve,

I have found the Quantum to be the perfect compromise camper for us as a family of 4. It has the right combination of size, weight, true off-road ability, creature comforts and ease of setup that suits us perfectly. All campers are compromises but this one has the right balance IMHO, especially when paired up with a 200 :)

Cheers
