Hoping to travel the lower part of this track in a few weeks , thats is the ok part south of approx Madigan camp5 camp6.

This section is apparantly a fairly easy straight run of about 180km down to French line, however I have not been able to get any reports on it in last couple of years.

We did Madigan line last year and noted a couple of new roads in the area that could easily be confused with Colson.

Hi Robin

Our group was in the area in early June we were told the Colson (via contacts in Alice Springs) was overgrown and at times hard to follow, we also noted a lot of new mining exploration tracks near Camp 5 running south.

Hi Robin

We traveled the Colson Track for a shot distance back in 2010 on our Simpson Geo Centre trip.
We entered the track 40km's south of Madigan camp 5 and traveled south for about 20km's. The track was slghtly corrogated but otherwise in good condition, it was also obvious that it had seen some recent traffic.
