Looking for advice, contemplating travelling through the Flinders Ranges in mid September
with 23' on road van.
Do I take van through the ranges or store it at say Parachilna for a week or so whilst we bush camp through the north and south ranges.
Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated

The Roads are pretty good around there... but check first..

But... I'd be leaving the Van at Hawker or Parachilna and then do your camps..

Less trouble and less chance for things to break.

We did it a few times and left the Camper at Rawnsly Park

Hope that hepls.

Hullo Grant
The road north through Wilpena is now sealed to Blinman.
IMO, Blinman (or Angorichina Village a bit to the west or Alpena Station a bit south - good people to stay with) would provide a more central location to have a base camp or to set out from to places more remote. But in the end, it depends on where you want to explore - the Gammon Ranges/Arkaroola area to the NE, Brachina Gorge, Alpena Station, Bunyeroo, Bunkers CP, etc to the S and SE, Moolooloo and Nuccalena to the N - all good from the general Blinman area. OTOH, if you want to focus to the N to places such as Beltana, Warraweena, etc, then Parachilna may suit you better.
Cheers
Andrew
