Pyrenees Gathering update and info

Heading up that way in a couple weeks or so to scope things out for the Nov 9/10/11 gathering, and have been talking to my mechanic and erstwhile mate, who has offered to roll a bit of meat in a spit for Saturday night dinner, add in a few veggies, and Muzbry's patient wife offered to do some dessert, so I reckoned we might have a group dinner on the Saturday night, maybe one long table, we can supply the light, and I am sure Robbo's ever angelic wife can do some mulled wine. Anyways wth a bit of meat and veggies it might turn out to be max $10 a head for a nice roast dinner. Will be less maybe if more are interested. Whats the level of interest out there? Let me know here.

Cant wait to get up there it looks like being a great time again this year and just trying something different.

That sounds like a good idea, how about black tie as well and candle light. I can supply a long table as well if needed.

Hi Bonz, this is completely of subject, but muzbry told me you recently did an engine with your 3.0 grenade (same as mine just has!) Im looking at buying the brand new $7000 nissan long engine. Wondering what u did with yours?

I replaced mine but if you can get a brand new one for $7000 do it. The car will be worth at least $15k less with a blowed engine. I wanted to stay with the stuff thats expected under the hood and wanted a diesel.

I looked at a chev, but theyre a slug, theres a turbo.supercharged unit that goes straight in but I didnt have a lazy $32000 laying about. Marks will put a gen3 in it thats very tempting, but not a diesel.
Looked at a Tojo 4500V8 but it dwont fit without major mods and lots of cutting so went with the 3l.Mine is a series IV and its a much better donk than the original.

My new engine was around 11k plus fitting.

You can go with a 4.2 Nissan, it slips in nicely, and Rohan Canavan does a great job at fitting them.

He He, I was happy with the new engine too- while it was running! Now im looking for a 3rd engine! The more I read, the more it seems like russian ruolette with these things! I loved my patrol, but its getting a brand new engine, and then sold! I would never ever feel comfortable going thru the Kimberly, Oodnadatta etc again in a 3.0 patrol. I pulled the trigger once, and got lucky! never again! Cheers Kiwi

Not going but out of curiosity where is the Pyrenees apart from Europe?

It does not come up in Ozi and Google Maps took me to SE Europe.

Thanks guys

Once I got Google to forget about the mountains in Europe I found it.

Seems that it is a bit of a wine district. Or at least that is what the local council is promoting the area as. That's most likely why I do not know it. Not into wines myself nor is the boss. I prefer a good "cold one".

Sorry for the delay. I just installed Outlook for my wife and now trying to find out how to transfer all her data from Windows Live Messenger to Outlook. While I have been deeply in comms and computers (programmer and analyst) since 1970 I still have trouble with the need of todays programmers to make everything hard. I wish they would bugger off. Ah well. At least you gave me the chance to blow my stack and calm down.

I know that I do not need to say behave yourselves do I. Ha!! That's a joke.

Cheers

Thanks Muz. Can't drink much because of this stuff they plug into me. But I may tell them to get knotted one day and have a few. Definitely not wine though. Just the good old VB.

No promises mate. We have a couple of club events that our names are on. Bit of track clearing with the Rangers and a couple of weekends with the grandkids in the hills.

Okay?
