Info needed on plaque at well 14 on the CSR

Hi all,

Some of you are aware I’m writing up the history of the CSR and hopefully it will soon be finished.

I recently became aware of a plaque at Well 14 commemorating the death of Kevin Weckert, who died there of a heart attack in 2003. A visitors book has been placed at the well by the family and I’m told it contains information about Kevin’s death.

Did anyone happen to photograph the info in the visitors book or be able to tell me what the information is. If so could you please advise.

So far the info I have is;

South Australian Kevin Weckert was fulfilling his dream of crossing the CSR, when at Well 14 on the 30 May 2003 he passed away. He was unwell at Well 16, so he turned back heading for Wiluna and but died of a heart attack at Well 14. His family have erected a visitor book and memorial to him at the well.
