Garnin etrex 20

I have a new etrex20 and have also got a topo map off the net, all ok working on the etrex, how do I get the maps to go onto my computer and can I download them off the etrex to the computer or do I need a Disc with the maps on. Any one got any idea's thanks Frank

hutchsky : I would think you you need to have basecamp program to loaded maps to windows PC .There are tutors on net for basecamp etc ...

To get the maps back off your GPS, and view your tracks ect
you will need Garmin's mapping program "Mapsource".
That is a brilliant little program, as it is very simple to use.

If you want back up your maps then you may have to remove the SD card, if there is one, insert it in a card reader, and just copy them across to a folder on your desktop.
or
If you have no SD card in your unit, as I am not familiar with that GPS, then you may well be able to do it from within the Mapsource program..

Thanks for that I will try that one also, all up and running with info received good to have some where to go with our problems
