Hi Ivan,

I was checking out this area the other day because we're heading out there in a couple of weeks.

Bourke Shire Council road has the details of closures, as of 10 July.

Click on the "Road Conditions" for the details.

It looks like you'll be right going from Cobar to Charleville through Bourke.
There are contact details on the site if you need them.

Hoo roo,
Steve.

We are in Bourke tonight. We came from Trundle today without a problem - I know that is not Cobar. There was plenty of water in the table-drains which resulted in plenty of birds. Vegetation quite lush. Hope this is of some use! Megan

Thanks Megan & Kevin, all main roads open. Lets hope Bourke is not as full up as Cobar is tonight.

We came through Bourke and the back way towards Wilcania , but the road was a pain and eventually we had to turn off . I think if you're going this way you need to go to Cobar first .

We have just returned home on Wednesday from Birdsville via Charleville and Bourke and had no problems with the road no water on it. Will add though we couldn't get any type of accomodation in Charleville not even a camp spot so if looking at staying booking would be a good idea.

Thanks for that. Must be a popular area at the moment. Cobar was sold out last night.
