HI all,

Has anyone experience a stress crack int he frame of the larger rear door or their GU Patrrol caused (probably) by the weight of the spare hanging on the door? If so what was your repair, short of a rear bar?

Thanx in advance

Bonz

Gday Bonz
I have seen the way that Imogen drives so you best have a few words with her about the crack and how it got there.

Hi Bonz

Have the same problem with my 2001 4.8GU.
Went to Nissan dealer who 'contacted' Nissan who were not interested in a warranty repair even though it was explained that this was a fairly common problem/

Went to 2 panel beaters.
1 was about $750 for repair & partial repaint.
1 was about $2500 for new door & repaint.

Going to get another quote for repair.

Happy 4 wheeling

as mentioned already, it's a pretty common problem on the patrols. i have 4 friends that i know of that have had that happen to their GU Patrols (1X 4.2ltr and 3X 3ltr vehicles), usually after they have fitted larger tyres to the vehicle though. all i can say is, get it fixed before the glass breaks, because one friends glass broke and the replacement cost was fairly expensive (sorry i don't recall exact figure).
