Hi All

We are planning to visit Lorella Springs soon and want to leave our caravan at either Cape Crawford or Borroloola and tent it from there.
We will travel to that area from Barkly HS and then store the van and after our visit to Lorella Springs we will collect the van and head across to Daly Waters.

Has anyone left their caravan at either Cape Crawford or Borroloola or anywhere else up that way? What were the costs?

Any info and feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

we were at lorella springs 3 weeks ago with our van and went from there to borroloolla . the roads were quite reasonable and with care were fine for vans [in our opinion]. I think cape crawford would be a better place to leave your van but this is based only on a drive past

Borroloola certainly didn't inspire me as a place i would like to leave a van or even stay in the town, so i think your suggestions are wise Peter.

Peter,
Thanks for your advise, We will most like leave the van at Cape Crawford. You mentioned you took your caravan into Lorella Springs. Is it an offroad van? You said the road in was quite reasonable. We have a 25ft van but it is not offroad. We were wondering if we would get it up there ok? Just a thought.

Thanks

Hi Greig & Mish, If you are coming from Barkly HS then Cape Crawford is the best place to leave your van, otherwise it's another 100klm to Borroloola and adds another extra 150klm to your trip. But saying that the caravan park at Borroloola is quite secure and safe. The road to Lorella Springs is ok and vans are up at the fishing camp. Hope you enjoy your stay at Lorella say gday to Rhett for me.

Thanks for the reply but it doesn't apply to this post. Translates to advertising I think.
