Hi All
Just purchase this rear spring helper kit from TruckSpring.com in the USA. Just as an aside, the price, including delivery is half the cost if purchased in Aust! My old set of spring helpers (The red coloured ones) have got holes in them. This is more than likely my fault as I seldom kept the minimum recommended air pressure in them. The new set, just purchased are the better, and a little more expensive blue ones. After this long preamble, I remember reading about a sleeve you can purchase that goes over the item to prevent wear! Needless to say I can not find any info on them! Can any one out there help?
Regards
Brian

I have to disagree with Brian about Coil rites from Truck Spring in the USA.
I was quoted over $400 from a
well known Aus supplier. Delivered from USA was $160 - far less than half!!
Brian - if you do find the sleeve please let me know as
mine have only just arrived and are not yet fitted.

Hi Again
Have you seen the reply from David R where he says they are available from Airbagman. I am about to send them an email. At times, ExplorOz is worth its weight in gold!!

How did you get to contact them? I emailed them a couple of years ago regarding an 05 Prado and never got a response. I gave up and ended up buying from the Aussie mob.
I think you mean "half the cost OF purchasing in Aust" Brian.
Cheers,Bob.

Hi Toyocrusa(NSW)
I just went on to their web page and ordered from there. They have a vehicle
check list that you can refer to so that you are sure of purchasing the correct item. I must admit that they appear to be very efficient as I have already received a couple of emails complete with purchase order and tracking number details. By the way, thank you for the English correction. I can only put it down to a lack of 'Attention to Detail!'

I've ordered a set of four Bilsteins shocks for my vehicle for $450 to my door. $900 from local suppliers.
That price is cheaper than pretty standard shocks, and these are high quality billies.

Hi Tim HJ61
What can you say! I firmly believe that if Australia is to be at all competitive in this commercial world we need to have a good long, hard look at ourselves. We certainly seem to be pricing ourselves out of the market at all levels and, I for one do not believe it can be simply put down to 'Higher costs'. I think Governments both State and Federal, plus Big Business, need to take a long hard look at themselves or we may
well find ourselves with only a large mineral quarry or tourist industry in the future.

I'm not in wholesale or retail, but to give them some credit, our market size is tiny compared to the USA or Europe.
No idea how much difference that should really make.
It IS hard to believe how I can get them to my door as a single order, then sell them off at retail and make a decent markup, if I wanted to.

Hi
Re mark-up then add GST plus freight to that order. Then a few months down the track one becomes faulty then has to be replaced under warranty at your expense, then you claim back from suppliers which take time to pay.
Its called happy retail sales and service which we always do with a smile.
Its not all beer and skittles being in business trying to make ends meet at the end of the day.
A big outlay in stock, tools and premises that you hope to be able to make a return on with out all the red tape and govt costs, that keep changing at their whim makes you wonder why at times you even bother. There is no level playing field in a business buying the same goods, as it all goes on quantity and distance or how many may be doing the same thing in a given area.
You all have a great day
Cheers
Charlie

Hi Brian,
The sleeves you are talking about are available to allow an increase in air pressure in the airbag and hence increase load capacity. An extra benefit is that they greatly increase wear resistance. They are available from www.airbagman.com.au.
Cheers,
David
