Hi all

Just a cosmetics question. I recently bought a 98 Prado RV6 which I think is a pretty damn fine looking car. However, the powers that be (namely the mrs), think it would look much nicer with "those grey things on the doors and wheels". I've been looking around for a retailer that sells the GXL body kit and have not been able to find anyone in Australia. Does anyone know whether these are available in Australia (hopefully QLD) either OEM, aftermarket, second hand or possibly even wreckers that do this sort of thing. Any assistance would be helpful and appreciated.

Cheers

No doubt your local panel beater could help you with that one.

They must get them from somewhere to repair vehicles that have been damaged.

Might be worth taking a heart defibrillator with you for when they announce the price though............. Clear!! Zap

The GXL plastic panels attach via square holes etc, (would be a PITA to fit) and you'll find that you'll need everything including the rear bumper (which is a different colour on GXL/VX/TX).

I'd suggest you purchase the Prado RV Flare kit available from Toyota. Used to cost about $350 and they are superb looking flares - I prefer them to the GXL ones. They can be sprayed any colour you like, but look good in the standard black as well.

There are some pictures of some white RV flares on the Prado email list.

Thanks for the advice guys. I called a few wreckers and panel beaters and nobody seems to have anything second hand. After calling toyota to discover that they are $1500 each side (ZAP - and thats not including the required bumper) new, she'll have to learn to love it the way I do!

Cheers
