We purchased ours for the CSR in 2010 - it stopped working for no reason - no lights etc (wouldn't ignite) when we got home I tried it & it lit fine , since then we have used it 91 times and it's been great (a few battery recharges) still don't know what was wrong on CSR

Hi Ryder,

Our coleman just gave up the ghost a couple of weeks ago after about 5 years service. We mainly used it as a shower and hot water for washing up. We found it to be very useful.

When the coleman died we had no idea what was wrong with it and trying to send it off for repairs was quite difficult. No place we took it to would deal with coleman and when I contacted coleman direct they were hopeless. We ended up trying new pump, battery to no a vale.

With our experience I would not recommend one on the basis if you need it repaired, its hard to get a shop or dealer to do it.

Hope this helps.

We've had ours fixed 3 times, when it works it's great.
Ignition, pump and tank have all gone wrong.
Fixed each time by a tech in Adelaide though BCF.
We don't need it any more, it has the extra's if anyone is interested in buying it.
Hot Water on Demand™ Hose Adaptor
Hot Water on Demand™ Spray Adaptor
Hot Water on Demand™ Carry Bag

The Aqua Cube doesn't get as hot as the Coleman.

I'm about to see how good the Coleman warranty is. I was using it up at Middle Lagoon and noticed flames coming out the bottom vents so turned off the gas and poured water over the vents to put it out. Anyway, when we got home in mid July, I found the original receipt and the three years were up on June 23rd. Looking back the fire occurred before June 23 but I had no way of returning the unit to the "place of purchase" until I returned home. And it's an two hour round trip to get it to the store. Coleman customer service glib answer is it will be outside warranty terms. I guess their response is because I didn't return the unit on or before June 23rd.

I always advice people to take it back to Rays if you can get to one...

I have a lot of Coleman gear including the Northstar Light and Coleman Grill...Had issues with both and was never asked for a reciept...They just fixed it...

Sorry forgot that my Coleman Hotwater service is brilliant for showers and washing up,not hot enough for coffee.Always near prestine rivers so run the pump straight from it ,unlimited showers till the canister runs out....But i refill my canisters so its cheap...

Oh and get rid of the original shower hose its terrible, buy a better one from bunnings and clear tube, you can get a more flexible one from a boat shop..

Goodluck

Hi Hi-ryder!
How did you go? Where did you get one from and for how much? I work at a BCF store myself, and to be honest with you, we have had a few come back. They are a fantastic unit but yes, sometimes things go wrong and they need to be repaired. Provided you HOLD ONTO YOUR RECIEPT!!!!, and return the unit to where you purchased it from, Coleman are always happy to repair the unit (provided it is in warranty.) Trying to deal with Coleman outside of a retailer is a nightmare, we in store can get onto them then and there and get your issue sorted. They will run for approx 40 mins flat out, (which is about 150L), and those little canisters last for aaaaages. The water gets hot enough for a cuppa(the companion aqua cube does not).I would definately not recommend putting the pump directly into the river, no matter how pristine it is, things get sucked up and stuck in there, buggering the pump and voiding your warranty. Use clean, fresh water only. Also, you can buy rechargeable 6V batteries from most car places if you ever find you need to replace the battery. Often is a cheaper way to go as well. Overall, it is a great unit, Coleman have a great warranty scheme, maybe a bit pricey, but what can you do haha.
