You will need a copy of VantagePoint and then use the import/export function.

Hi

Sorry - my comments were based on personal experience and not what was written in the user manual. Further research indicates that others have had trouble with XP but it is a problem (or variety of problems) that can be solved...at least in some circumstances.

I had several problems ranging from the program not even starting (current issue) to it not communicating with the GPS despite the program running. I just tried reinstalling the program then and it still won’t run.

Doesn’t matter anyway - I solved all of the problems in one hit - I don’t bother to use Magellan units anymore (for the time being :)

Vantage Point uses GPSBabel anyway so I stick with my suggestion to use this. In the long term I would recommend getting the PC version of OziExplorer if using the Android version anyway. This will communicate with eXplorists fine and fast track the conversion (of data) process.

Cheers
Greg

Hello

Yes very possible. What program are you currently using to manage all your waypoints and tracks? I am assuming you have an older eXplorist based on the file formats your mention.

You just need to convert your data to GPX. This can be done with PC version of OziExplorer, VantagePoint, Mapsend Lite...or GPSBabel (plus a few other free and not so free programs)

Maybe GPSBabel is you best chance (in the absence of any other info on what you already have at your disposal) - Do a internet search and download it. It is a simple program that lets you convert one format (e.g. Magellan wpt) to another (GPX).

Cheers

Hi Graeme

Unfortunately not that simple - the file extentions are the same but the formats are different. You will need to convert Magellan format wpt/plt files to OziExplorer format wpt/plt...one way or another.

Cheers
