There is a quiet park about 30k north of
Cooktown at Endeavour Falls on the way to
Hope Vale, plenty of room, lots of shade and a pool you can swim in (croc free).

Sorry for the lateness in reply, I think it was just Endeavour Falls CP we didn't stay there just popped in for a look at the falls and was impressed with the site.
