I own a 2012 200 series plus caravan (just purchased) i would like to hear from people who have installed a 'inbuilt' GPS system with camers for the van too... we want to travel this wide brown land with a good quality and the best way to find out what is the best is by 'word of mouth'.... can anyone help??

Fairly obvious I thought, he wants a GPS whose screen doubles as a Rear view monitor via a rear mounted camera.

I don't have one but I believe Hemma make one with a 7" screen. A friend has one of these & he reckons it is good.

When you say "inbuilt" do I take it you mean 'in dash' or windscreen mount as most are?

Cheers Neil

G'day Charlie,

I don't know much about the other brands of in dash GPS systems, but have purchased two VMS systems, which are quite expensive compared to a lot of others available. I personally would not spend the money again on one if these,
as the cost is definitely not relative to the quality received.
I think there was a thread earlier today or yesterday with regards to the same topic.

Hi Charlie,

Does "inbuilt GPS" mean Satnav?? If so then the 2012 200 already has this, at least for every model from GXL up, not sure about GX. If not then what do you mean by "inbuilt GPS"?

Does the inbuilt one also run Oziexplorer or any of the other off road mapp display programs. If not then I do not think that you will get much data outside any populated place.

We have the VMS in the dash running Ozi. All you want but cost a few quid.

Thanks to all who replied, To clarify, I was looking for a in dash system, where the radio goes.... was hoping that the model I get would have radio, cd, volume control etc.... plus a GPS with a camera that connects through to the van..... Im new (posts on the forum) to this ... My 200 is a 2012 model but it doesnt have GPS...... i must of got the last of the 2011 stock....
Cheers

Now I know what you want..... Your 200 series already has a reversing camera fitted so what you might be able to do is wire it so you can fit a second camera to your van and have it so you can switch between the two when needed.

And maybe a stand alone GPS like the Hema Navigator 6 for GPS.

Charlie

Try this mob. Click here
I got one for my Patrol, but am not sure if they do for the 20 series, yet !
I am a bit slack, and have not hooked up the camera, but it will happen this summer.

Also look at VMS, who do exactly the same thing.
