Provisionally laying out some options for our trip next year. Good planning is the key to success eh? We need to check from you guys how we'll go with a van on the GRR. Second question is we see it goes through the Leopold Conservation Park. We'll have our two little terriers with us. Will this prohibit from taking this route?

Cheers guys.

Hi Phill

I also have a number of My Blog entries from our 2008 GRR trip which may be of interest to you. We did the side trip to Kalumburu and and Mitchell Plateau.

Having dogs will limit you. You will be unable to stay at DEC managed National Parks websites such as Windjana Gorge and Silent Grove campground for Bell's Falls. Some stations stays will allow dogs by prior arrangement.

If you choose to go on the side trip to Kalumburu, pets are permitted at McGowan's Island CP and Honeymoon Bay CP. You will not be able to visit Mitchell Falls. At Drysdale River Station dogs are not permitted in the main station campground, but are permitted at the unserviced camp they have at Miner's Pool.

We met a young couple travelling with dogs. They were principally on a fishing trip and were aware of their limitations. They planned to come another time without their dogs for sightseeing.

Thanks for the input MH

We realise the limitations regards to sight seeing. We were just concerned though that as the GRR passes through Leopolds, that we'd be denied the right to pass through with dogs in the Cruiser.

What is the line with that one? Any clues?
Cheers

Phill

Not a problem Phill so long as they remain in the car.
