G'day all, where exactly does the air flow sensor sit, and what does it look like on the nissan 3ltr td, just had mine replaced, but want to be sure there are new parts showing or finger marks of where they worked, not that i would distrust nissan, now would we, or am i being overly distrusting, even though i does run great now; regards, Adrian.

air flow sensor is located just up from the lid of the air filter.

air leaks in between your sensor and the inlet manifold on any vehicle can affect the running of the vehicle as there is unmetered air going in and the computer chucks a spaz.
Just something to keep in mind to check if the beast is ever playing silly buggers.

Michael, I had it done under an extended warranty, the nissan dealler originally quoted approx 2 and a half hours of testing to be able to send the info to nissan techs at approx $60 .00 p/h total cost i have no idea, Truckster has made comment of around $1300 big ones, seems bloody expensive for what it is, suggest you ring nissan, regards, Adrian.

Question, if the air flow sensor sends the information to the ecu uinit and the fitting of a Dtronic chip negates the need for the ecu ( or so i'm told ) does the Dtronic chip still rely on the info from the sensor or will it determine it's own need???????

The dtronic is a replacement ecu and will use the airflow sensor.
