Hi all,

Is it still possible to get access to the Helena and Aurora Ranges from Koolyanobbing?
Its been a few years since I was there last and I believe that there has been a increase in the mining activity in the area.

thanks
David

Hi David, went in there last October during the CHOGM long weekend. Just as you get to the mine turn right (east) and take the mine road. This road crosses a haul road and the track into the ranges starts on the other side of this haul road. Track then parallels the haul road for a short distance before heading further east.

Have fun we had a really great but all too short a stay.

Dunc

Thanks Dunc,
I had thought of going out there on a long weekend but your right as it is really too short a time to see the area.

We came into it from the north-east because we couldn't get through from the east as there's a mine in the way which has closed the road to non-mining traffic and went out to the west and up the Bullfinch to Diemels rd.

It's great country. See it before they mine it all.
