The effect comes from the Neutral Density filter I use to allow me to use longer exposure to get movement in the sky. Gives a bit of a blue cast which can be removed but I kind of liked it with this
pic. Funnily enough I did surf earlier that day and it WAS cold and I was terrified of
sharks. My girlfriend pretty much said exactly the same as you but gee it makes you feel alive!
