Hey guys,

I have got a 2" lift on my IFS 06 100s cruiser.
I have done both cv joints, i realise that their suspension is not made for after market goodies, but does someone have after market cv joints on their cruiser that stopped the problem? Or am i better off getting rid of the 2" lift?
It is handy though!!

Opinions would be good to hear!

Cheers

I cannot help you.

It sounds as if our mechanic was right. Instead of a 2" lift he put on heavier torsion bars and springs and wound the bars up a bit and strongly advised against any more lift as it could damage the CV joints.

rooey : what you need is a diff drop plate/ bracket to less'an the angle of the cv's. what is the distance from wheel rim edge at the bottom to the wheel arch /mud guard ? ( around 750 mm ) ? or could it be something else that did you cv's in !!!!

as said you need a diff drop kit. Have a look on some of the US sites, you can buy them there or here.
Whether you fit HD torsion bars or not the effect on the CV's is exactly the same when lifted up without it.
I did a CV on mine same way.

Keep the lift fit a diff drop cross member.

Plenty of places here to buy them.

What the drop kit is and how to fit it (pdf)

Depends where you are but Will get you started.
