we are goin to
exmouth next week. Ive been told that filling water tanks on vans can be a bit of an issue. We will be
free camping and will need water. Apparently you can fill tanks at the back off the visitor center but i need to know for sure. Is it worth while filling before we get to
exmouth.

The parks we have stayed at provide drinking only water and the
bore supply to shower and flush
toilets etc. I personally wouldn't put that stuff in my van tanks. I am pretty sure that
drinking water is available at the
visitors centre but maybe a phone call to confirm just in case something has broken down.
Cheers

Id think a call to the
visitor centre would clear that up?
"Is it worth while filling before we get to

travelling up north its worthwhile filling at every opportunity, as they are few and far between.
Exmouth for example, not sure about the roadhouses but likely
Carnarvon is the previous free filling point from south.
Coral Bay MAY do it now that there is a communal RO plant but earlier the parks each provided their own and hence did not give it away.

thanks for the help
I rang visitor center and there are 2 taps next to it, all you need is hose and fittings, might half fill at canarvan then top up at
exmouth just in case.

You can fill your tanks 20 odd Klms north at the boat launching ramp opposite the naval communications station. Best water around, even the locals fill their drinking water there. Drive up to the Naval station and turn right 100 metres before the guard house. There is a tap just past the
toilets.

The water at
Exmouth is ok to drink but it is pretty hard with a lot of calcium content.
