Hi all,
Planning our October trip which will bring us
home to
Melbourne via
Mildura, I see that Hattah NP is closed through the River Rd till end 2012. Damn! A great place to
camp. Not much interested in the Hattah Lakes. So the advice is that camping is available downstream at Colignan or upstream at Wemmen.
Has anyone any experience at either? Any advice appreciated.
Louise

We had the same issue over
Easter. Why GMW couldn't delay the start of the works for a week to allow for the busiest camping period was mystifying. Anyway...we stayed on the river south of
Robinvale. Almost as good but no large sandy stretches like at Sextons Bend. Same rules - free and can have a fire. It the area north of Tol Tol Rd (you can see all the tracks clearly on Google Earth). Return to
Melbourne via Swan
Hill is a nice drive as
well.

Thanks for the advice, Adrian. Have just had a look on Google Earth and definitely looks a possibility.

There are heaps of
places along the River on the Victorian side to
camp. All the way from Nangiloc - Colignan through to Nichols Point. Psyche bend is also a good spot. On the NSW side mostly private property but there are some good spots at
Bottle bend and Sandbar bend. No facilities - just good river front camping.
