Hi everyone,
As I am sure a lot of you are aware we have been having some serious problems with the system since I converted the application to a new operating mode and framework level. We have had a number (no heaps, more than heaps) of problems since I did this Tuesday/Wednesday which was causing the system to fall over about every 1hr during the morning and every 30mins in the busy evening hours.

Well I believe, this time I have found and resolved the problem once and for all. I am sorry it took me so long to find the two lines of code that were the root cause of the problem but it is resolved now and we should start to see the benefits of the upgrades I was working on.

David

i have to say from my point of view problem is not solved . Takes 45 - 60 seconds to open a thread or reply to a thread. Way in excess of other forums.
Sorry but thats the way I see it despite being a supporter of this site.

Took a considerable time to open this reply as well. Still taking a very long time to open any thread on this site.

That's OK there is still something running a muck - I just caught it and now need to find it. I think the map server system times out and causes the app system to consume ram. I will find it but we are in a lot better position than this time 3 hours ago.

Have a good one.

Every thing looks OK here. I use the addon "lori" on my Firefox to keep an eye on page request response times. The longer threads are coming in in less than 4.5 seconds.

Thanks for your efforts David. Looks like the forum is all systems go. Only takes a few seconds for the pages to open. Fingers crossed.

Hi David,

Noticed this morning that I was unable to post an image to a forum post - get "server error" when it trys to do it.

I've tried a few times and it appears to be consistantly failing with the same error.

Cheers,
Geoff

Geoff,

I pulled out the image uploads in the classifieds and the forum as I was not happy with the software that was doing the jog - I will be installing something new today. Will advise once complete.

Take care, safe travels.Ma.

David and Michelle

This might be in contravention of the "off topic" rule, but I'd just like to say how much I enjoy this site, the forum especially. There are some really decent folks using this site and it seems that the folks running it are pretty decent too!

Have a good weekend.
