Hello everyone , wondering if anybody has taken a flight over Lake Eyre very recently ?Where would the best take off point ,
Alice Springs , or
William Creek , ?We are wondering if it has very much water in it at the moment , and whether it would be worth the cost , would appreciate any
feedback ,cheers , lyn

Wrights Air at
William creek is the go.
I have done it twice, once when it was full and once this year when it was only 20% full, both were spectacular trips.
The LEYC has the latest conditions, also call Wrights for an update.

We went from the
Marree Pub on 2 Jul... fantastic.
Pick up a copy of Oct's Go Camping mag to read all about it.

Consider a chopper instead of a fixed wing plane. You see heaps more because you effectively sit in a bubble.
We took a ride last year at
Easter in 2011.

We saw water in Lake
Eyre at
Curdimurka two weeks ago from the road. Thats about 100Ks up the
Oodnadatta Track towards
Oodnadatta from
Marree.
Not sure if you are going that way. Best ofg luck. I just watched that ABC video of Lake
Eyre and the floods of a couple of years ago. I felt like packing the car and going back.
They were still taking flights over Lake
Eyre from
William Creek when we went through there on the same trip.
Cheers
Phil
