Hi all

I am looking at buying a Generator from the Generator Place.
At $1717 it seems a very good deal, especially as it includes delivery. I see the info brochure states
"Parallel Connection Ports: Optional
Parallel Connection Cable: Optional"

Now I knew the cable was an extra but the ports?
This would have to mean there are two models?
Has anyone here run the EU20i in Parallel? This is something I will wish to do in the future so I need to get this one right.
Have emailed the company concerned and am awaiting a response.
Has anyone here purchased from this company?

Thanks for your help.

Lyndon

Mine has the parallel ports standard and I suspect that they all do and there is a misprint on the flyer.

I purchased the cables in case I needed to join two one day...only have the one genny but forsee the possibilty of being with fellow traveller with same genny and a need arose perhaps some time in the future

I'm guessing it is a misprint too, but just want to be certain. We might want another one one day to help run the house in blackouts and when I'm a bit older and greyer I will probably get and offroad van with an aircon. Yeah I know, one can run an aircon (supposedly) I can also drive my car in first gear at 60 Km/Hr but choose not to do so.

Cheers

G'day Lyndon

I have a EU20i and from the same place.
Never used the twin hookup with someone elses generator. Possibly you will never need to.

Observations.
After a run in period I use 5w50 Mobil 1 in the engine and as it is 5w when starting and no thinner than 50w would be when running hot, it gives the best of both in the performance/life. Not much oil in them anyway, so check OFTEN if run for long periods.

If storing after use the book says to drain the carby. Done via the engine access hatch. This entails using a screwdriver to undo the drain the carby bowl down through the clear plastic tube to the gen base. Rag needed.
If you DON'T DRAIN and STORE for a WHILE WITHOUT DRAINING, the fuel will dry in the bowl and cause jet blockage and then it will require the carby removed to clean it out and make it go again.
Best never to forget the draining of the carby bowl.

Thanks for the info. It's a curse of the unleaded fuel we have today, goes "crusty". I tend to change my Genny oil every 25-50 hours operation.

Cheers

Can anyone tell me if the EU20i has an hour meter?

Just had a look at one this morning, Lyndon.

Didn't notice an hour meter. Some small engine & motorbike shops sell those small hourmeter/tachometers, that run on a button cell and get the tacho drive from a wire wrapped around the HT cable. Small enough to fit somewhere, with bit of velcro or silastic.

Bob.

Seen it all, Done it all.
Can't remember most of it.

Cheers Bob
Noticed that Christies Engineering sell them, $66. Just bought the Genny today, at $1717 delivered I don't think it's a bad deal.

Cheers
