Hi Guys,
I have been told that the
Big Bend near CT is a good location for a nice weekend camping, is this only accessible by 4x4 or are you able to take a regular car? Don't mind a few bumps and a bit of dust, just knee high water si all I'm trying to avoid. Cheers!

Rod's link above is good and should answer your question. Yes 4WD or at the very least high clearance.
Thing to consider is that this is a huge river when in flood. It takes trees and vegetation. So in the dry, if you want to get close to the water, you will be on soft sand and there will be limited shade. Even more so if you can't reach it due to the lack of 4wd or high clearance.
In saying that, why don't you give it a go? If you see you can't find a spot because of above, then go 15 minutes down the Lynd (northbopund) and you will reach Fletcher Creek. This is a free
campsite, on the creek, good swimming, no 4wd required. It will not be a wasted trip
Cheers, CJ
