Does anyone have experience in getting a 4wd and caravan transported from
Broome by truck? Motor has gone in the 4wd and we need to at least get it to
Perth / Mandurah.
I am trying to track down companies and prices.
cheers.
Barry

Damn ! Thats bad luck Barry. I hope you get it sorted. That must be every travellers nightmare.
Wish you luck with getting a favourable outcome.

Try a google search with
Perth to
Broome freight.
It might even be cheaper to split the van and 4wd drive up by sending the van on a normal semi and sending the 4wd with a car transporter.
Ask the locals like the caravan park managers, they would probably know of others who have been in the same position

Can feel for you, Barry. I'd hate to be that far from
home, and looking at the loot needed for transport, and a re-build.
I pass a number of transporter mobs, here in central west Qld. They cart a LOT of vehicles, but otherwise don't know much about them. Don't think they'll cart vehicles with any belongings in them, and not sure about the 'van.
Here they are:
CEVA 132277
Adelaide Car Express 08 82621622
Patrick Autocare 1300 656 768
Hope they, or someone they know, can help you. What would be ideal would be a tilt tray. Put the vehicle on it, and tow the 'van. you wouldn't need to worry too much about your belongings then.
Good luck,
Bob.

Barry,
Sorry to hear about your predicament. Try a fella named Jeff Little (Littles Transport) 0448 816450. This guy does
Perth to
Karratha and Pt Hedland, not sure if he goes as far as
Broome. I used him when in business a while back, pretty good rates. Not sure about the van but maybe worth a call.
Good luck

Actually just remembered another bloke who was a customer of ours (never used his
services)
Carahaul 0458 569020 can't remember his name but as you can tell from the company name he transports vans Oz wide. He is also based in
Perth.
Good luck

Thanks everyone for your good wishes and contacts. We have managed to find a load with Regal Transport in
Broome. Quite ironic when you consider our van is a Regal as
well!
Cheers and happy travels everyone ;-))

I would have to agree Gazz, when we did our engine in Coffs we were at our wits end. Now I can't tell anyone about our trip with out mentioning the time when......
Hope you get it sorted quickly. Out of interest, what was the reason for the engine going???

Services)
Give them a call

plus one for Oilfield Transport.
Carted a boat for me 2 years back, they crapped all over the other dropkicks pricewise paying with folding stuff.
Theyd be my absolute first stop.

ill take bets.
2 to 1 patrol 1.10 favourite 3ltr diesel, performs badly needs to be put down
15 to 1 1hz landcruiser 5.98 dark horse. solid donk, wont break the sound barrier.
on a more serious note,
think long and hard before putting same motor back in.
i made the mistake with mine, should have went with a direct injection 12ht.
live and learn, live and earn.
its only money.

Too late now but for untrue reference for anyone needing anything shifted from anywhere to anywhere else: www.loadshift.com.au
Sort of like an online transport market place.
I got a camper trailer from
Melbourne to Kalgoorlie for $1,000 as a top up on a truck already coming through rather than the next cheapest quote of $4,000-odd, so can thoroughly recommend.
