I am heading to Uluru from Kangaroo Island but I need to spend a few days near Adelide to service the vehicle.
Did not find anything but the 35-45 caravans with all "facilities" we do not need. Any experience with something?, caravan/campgroung south of Adelaide.
Thanks
Carlo

Hi Carlo,
There is a couple of nice camping areas south of Adelaide. Deep Creek Conservation Pk or Rapid Bay. Deep Creek is a self reg camp ground with long drop toilets. Rapid Bay a ranger will collect a camp fee and has flush toilets. From memory I think both fees are about $12.00. These areas are not far from Cape Jervios.

Another vote for Rapid Bay. We left the van there & went to KI. Plenty of space,
toilets, waterfront, jetty, grass. A nice place to leave the van, & family ,if required,
while slippng up to Adelaide. cheers....oldbaz.

If you want to bush camp try Saunders Gorge which is around 75km out. Apart from that West Beach caravan park is excellent

If you want somewhere a bit closer, then there are a couple of camp grounds at Kuitpo forest. Chookarloo is popular and about 45 minutes from Adelaide city centre. Here is a map

Brighton Caravan park is right on the beach (Seacliff), small but nice if you can get in.

Other than that Kuitpo as mentioned is nice for cheap camping.

You could give the caravan park at Mt Barker a try. (not south of Adelaide)

There is good and cheap public transport to Adelaide. About 20-30 minutes depending on the time you travel.

Now another question...I am looking for the brand name of those camper trailers that open with a hard roof resembling a chalet, can not remember the name.
Thanks
