Road condition - Wave Rock - Yellowdine

Was just wondering if anyone has travelled the road from
Wave Rock to Yellowdine recently. Am looking to go to Kalgoorlie from
Hyden and am wondering if the road is suitable for an on road van. Cheers

not recently but cant imagine its changed much - its a typical WA dirt road which vary between excellent and superb

Also not recently. Parts of it used by mining haul trucks and kept fairly good. We would have no reservations about travelling on it, but we live in a rural area with gravel roads. It may depend on how recently it was graded.

that point about gravel roads made me think if its wise to flippantly say how excellent roads are, as a matter of course we keep our eyes out for washaways, rocks, gravelly sections, sand etc without even noticing
then there was that poor family who lost thier daughter while mum was driving,
they were directed to take the hyden/
norseman road during those terrible fires along the GEH in 08.
unfortunatly it seems the mother driving had no experience driving even a very good road gravel road like that and lost control crashing the vehicle and killing her daughter

Also not recently, 3years ago was really good could do 90/100 easy. Little or no traffic do not remember sighting any
mine vehicles.

Hi all, thanks for your replies. Got to
Hyden today & was directed to a local who said it was in excellent condition so we gave it a go. Road was as he described - excellent condition, a few minor corrugated parts but we sat on 80kmh comfortably and could have gone faster, we were just being conservative. Very little traffic, would recommend it if you are travelling to
Wave Rock from Gt Eastern Hwy or to Gt Eastern Hwy from
Hyden, saves about 200km compared to sitting on the bitumen. Cheers Rachael

G/Day scoots,we travelled this road 5 weeks ago, it was in very good condition, sat on 100kph with no dramas. we have a 2008 troopy V8
