Review: VR-1200 5W UHF Radio

How does one review a UHF radio - well I guess it works is a good start. No really this is a nice unit with everything included in the box. I like the interface it is simple - there is only one switch - on and volume. The menu interface is easy to use. The green coloured backlit display is also great in the vehicle or when it is dark. It appears to be a good quality unit and feels well made. This will be a great addition to our travel kit. We use the hand held when one of us is away from the vehicle or when the kids go off exploring. In the past we have used 1/4 watt units but I was also concerned (and it happened a few times) that we would be out of range of each other. It is also used in our boat to call the car or shore parties.
