I have a 1989, LN106, 2.8 L Diesel Hi Lux, and am looking for A Long Range Fuel Tank, - 130 Litres. Must fit in the same place as the original tank without hampering the placement of the current spare tyre. Can anyone help me out. I have until July to source one. I live in Adelaide.

Thanks.

Try 4WD Megastores or LRA and see if your model is there

Hi Russ

Had a Hilux like yours. Had the Long Ranger tank fitted. Excellent. They are well made and dont crack with the flexing you will get in the Hilux Chassis.

hi RUS i have a 93 rollux surf mobeel :P, i went to arb in darwin and they fitted a 130ltr aux for aprox 1200 AUD and it fits where the spare wheel would have gone if i didnt already have a tyre carrier. i know this miht not be what you are after but its great ive now got aproxx 200ltrs usable fuel and it gives me a range of about 12 to 1500 km with both tanks....the 1200 is when i try and drive the old 2.4 like a 5.7 ltr monaro :)

oh btw tjm told me about 2 days earlier that there was no tank that big for a hilux the biggest was about 90 (from memory) so have a look around and dont take one dealers word as gosple

have a good one

rexy :)

Forgot to say that I am looking 2nd hand. They are available, price around $350, complete change over for original tank 129 litres.

Thanks again.

I have had several hiluxes and had an aluminium tank made up for the tray it fits between the wheel arches and made the drain plug directly in line with the drain plug that is already in the tray put a small tap then a tee piece into the breather line it gravity fills you dont loose much room and takes about 30min to take for your next hilux it gave me about 1200 klm in my 3ldiesel and gives me 1360 in my 3ltd
