Thanks for the information we will be heading across that way in about 2 weeks time, towing the caravan. We have 2 tanks and 2 x jerry cans (diesel) so that is going to help us no end knowing what to expect. Great info.
Well done.

Hi Adriane, bet it was Gillian who made note of the costs?
Mate hope you both have a great & safe trip to the Apple Isle. Hopefully I'll catch up in the not too distant future.

Look forward to seeing you anytime Dunc, in
Adelaide ATM,
Ballarat Tomorrow night, then the Ferry on the night of the 8/10 should be at the new house on the 9/10. Having a good run so far.
It was me who got the fuel $ on the way over, Gill is far too busy dusting her Astra after the
Hyden-
Norseman roads 250kms of gravel road, which was a doddle as usual even in her loaded Astra. We saw Quad team 99 and Bruce Garland's crew on the way over the Nullarbor, I didn't get a chance to get the Australasian Safari stickers off the Troopy before we left
Perth so the crews all waved like mad when we came across them. See you down the track Dunc, all the best to you and her indoors. A and G.

Thanks for the offer. Careful when you remove the door stickers I pulled a chunk of paint off as
well.
Bet you got a bit of a shock seeing some of the competitors crews and likewise them seeing you.
BTW - got the carrier on now and it looks good!!!!!!!!!!
Keep safe.

Hi Kanga,
Where abouts is the new home in Tasmania? We are only 3 weeks behind you and leave
Perth to head to our home in Tasmania also.
The fuel update is GREATLY appreciated! :-) First time crossing the Nullarbor for us, so doing alot of reading. You've inspired me to purchase an extra couple of jerry cans thats for sure!
Thanks!

Hi InsaneSniper, we bought a house on Cygnet Coast Road in Lower Wattle Grove, its sort of between Hoonville and Cygnet.
The
Hyden Norseman road will save you more than a hundred Kms, and it takes you through some of my favorite country,
The Breakaways,
Mcdermid rock and some great
woodlands. If you are going to to take jerry cans on the ferry, check with the Spirit of Tas about their requirements for them and gas bottles.
Regarding where to get fuel, if you know your approximate range, grab a map and work out some distances between
places and you may find its not worth the cost and drama on the Ferry, by buying enough to get to somewhere down the road with a better price.
Head winds/tail winds and how much you have the foot into it makes a massive difference in your consumption when calculating how far a tank will get you.
Enjoy your trip and new home, we may see you down the track one day. All the best, from Kanga and Mrs Kanga.

Hey Dunc how about putting some pics of the Sooper Trooper up on your Profile, I'd be interested to see it's metamorphosis, shame about the paint coming off, somebody told me to get them off with hot soapy
water, I'll give it a bash when we get to the new place.
We stopped at Keith in South Aussie today, where there is a memorial to Andy Caldecott, took a few pics of it for Australasian Safari, while we were there, a nice old guy and his Grand daughter stopped and had a chat, turns out it was Andy Caldecotts' Daughter and Father in law, small world. Be good Dunc, A and G.
