Review: Hells Gate Roadhouse - QLD

We booked well in advance during our planned trip along the Savannah Way in August this year. At first I was a bit worried about what we would find as we don't camp or tow. We stay in cabins, roadhouses etc and the phone calls were not that encouraging but we proceeded anyway. The road on the NT side was terrific but the minute we crossed the border, things changed for the worse. Road conditions were terrible. We then began to worry about our lodgings. On arrival our fears were allayed. The roadhouse is great. Leona, the owner/manager was friendly and helpful and the cabins were great. Big, clean, ensuite and plenty of room. Thank goodness it wasn't too hot as the air conditioning didn't work but we can highly recommend Hells Gate if you are going that way.
