Hopefully someone will be able to answer this question quite easily. I am looking at purchasing a GU patrol which has a Nissan bull bar fitted. It appears to have a winch cradle as part of the bar. Does anyone know is the bolt pattern on this is a "standard" bolt pattern? (Is there even a "standard" bolt pattern?) And if so, what is the largest size winch people have found necessary/been able to fit.

Thanks
Lachy

Taking a bit of a punt here Lachy, but it's my understanding the bolt pattern is fairly standard across the range, I have a winch off my previous vehicle that I hope to fit straight onto the ARB bar that will be fitted to the Tojo I'm about to purchase. As I say .. I've been told they are all the same, but time will tell.

As for size, I reckon anything around 9500-10000 lb will do the job. Esp if you consider a snatch block to double the line pull if you're really in the bleep e.

A warn 9000 will not fit unless you modify the brackets that hold the bar to the car
Nissan sell the Premier brand of winch which are shorter in the length of the body and this is what they have made their bars to suit
I found this out the hard way I had already had my Warn

G'day, my 2004 GU Nissan bullbar has a sticker on it saying, "a Warn 9000lb Winch only to be fitted" or something similar, is to do with the air bag compliance. Cheers, John
