I'm travelling from Darwin by 4WDcamper on 3 Nov heading to Broome via Great Northern Hwy, then back on GRR. Only have 10 days. Are there any obstacles along the GRR at present? Forecast is for fine weather. Also what features are a MUST SEE?

Hey Bruce have a great time and enjoy. Hope you'll post a detailed blog, as we are going to be doing that trip next year. Would be well interested to hear what you find. All the best

That is a very big trip to do in just 10 days! There is no much to see. We spent 4 nights alone in the Bungle Bungles. I take it you will not be in Broome very long.

hi baffle just done that trip but in 4 weeks and that wasnt enough. left katherine then started the GRR but was really really rough, turned around at home valley like everyone else. some real horror stories coming from broken 4wd's, buit there was graders working in different parts of the road. stayed a ELQ which was ok, then used the black top around into winjana (tunnelcreek) and worked backwards along the GRR heading towards drysdale . in your time frame i would stay at silent grove and manning gorge. along the Great northern hWay we stayed at mary pool wayside (worth the stay) and then went into wolfe creek for a nite. i think you will find the bungles will still be closed as there was huge fires 2 weeks ago and they werent looking at opening it.broome is broome . hope this help .want any more info let me know. quincy

Thanks fellas. I realise it is far too short. But I will use this as an exploratory trip for a future long and more relaxed tour.

A few weeks ago the Royal Flying Doctor did 7 patient transfers in one day from the Gibb to Derby Hospital. Too many idiots pushing it trying to stick to some timetable. Take it easy.

Well if the weather turns I might have to skip the GRR and stick to the tar. Don't have any commitments so will just decide when I get there. Heading first to Singapore for a couple of days. Cheers!
