Hello Fellow travellers,
Camps Australia Wide will be releasing our App for iPhone & iPad in November 2012!
Its a rich content app with a look simular to the Camps book, online map (when in data service range) and an off line map for out of data service range.
Users can get voice turn by turn directions to the selected site if you have Metroview GPS installed in your iPhone or iPad. This will run in the background, if you return to other applications on your device on the way to the site.
Users will have the option to subscribe and get updates monthly for existing site in the App , plus new site that we have added during that month.
Hope this helps the conversation.
See you on the road
Philip & Cathryn

It will be interesting to see the various costs.
At this stage, I think the Hema 6 is a better option.
Smaller than an iPad, Oziexplorer with Hema maps, IGO with Camps 6, caravan parks and Dump points.
Anyway, it's great to have so many choices.

My understanding is that is similar to the printed book with navigation as an extra.
"Its a rich content app with a look simular to the Camps book, online map (when in data service range) and an off line map for out of data service range. "
Although the waypoints (POIs) can be loaded to Hema6 I don't think the printed content of the book will be able to. You will still probably need the book.
We will just have to wait and see.

I guess they need to do this, as the wiki camps app is getting a move on and following. If you haven't tried it yet and have an I device it's only $2.99 and very handy, still a bit clunky but that will Improve. Great to have few choices.

It's also available for Android. The included satfinder alone is worth the cost of the app.
