I use a long screwdriver as a lever to make sure they are nice and tight and won't slip during heavy weather. Hope that is what you were asking?

You need to spend good money to get quality twist lock poles, the best ones that I have found are Supapeg.

Hi Bill If you are wanting to know how to stop poles working there way loose in strong wind etc my solution has been to use a hose clamp readily available from hardwares clamped onto pole and when you have adjusted the pole to the correct height just slide clamp up to the base of the top section of pole and tighten no more worries !!!
Hope this helps and makes sense.
Cheers
Barry
