Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to pick your brains about some good camping/4x4ing people have had between
Darwin and
Brisbane.
My brother is moving from
Darwin to
Cairns in about a week or so, and coming via Brissy to visit the family before hooking north. Can anyone recommend some great
camping sites and maybe even some spots to do some 4x4 driving along the way from
Darwin?
Time is no issue, as they don't have any deadlines, but they're planning for about a week or so of travel to bris so should give them plenty of time to check out some good sites.
At this stage they will be coming down the Barkly - Stuart then most likely thru
Cloncurry way etc into qld. After that they're pretty much open to any of the ways to bris.
Cheers
Jim

Hi Jim,
Thats a pretty big question you have asked. Best option is to get hold of Camps Australia (available from the
shop on this site) and use that as a guide. As for 4x4ing - there are interesting tracks south of Mt Isa/
Cloncurry that take you into the old (and more recent) mining areas that may be of interest.
Cheers,
Val
