Hi,
Has anyone got an idea of how long it takes to go from
Ceduna to Kalgoorlie while playing the Nullabor Golf Course? And of course having a look at the sights on the way.
Would you allow an extra half hour per hole to your travel time or longer.
Need to know roughly how many days/hours as I have to plan timing to meet someone in
Perth.

I played it last year but we were in no hurry to cross. I found by the time you stopped, got organised, walked to the tee (which could be at the other end of the hole, so you play back to the
carpark) it could be an hour before you are on the road again.
The Kalgoorlie and
Ceduna holes are done when you stop for a couple of days so they don't count.
I forget which ones but at least two of them in the middle have 'hungry crows'.
We had to have a spotter half way down the fairway (not a good description) to deter them from swooping on the ball. and then leapfrogged the other player forwards to keep them at bay! I sprayed the balls with Insect repellent just before hitting in case they picked them up; the taste sometimes made them drop the ball before making the safety of the surrounding paddocks.
Another good tip is to save the tops off wine bottles and use them as a tee as you will need a hammer to get a real tee into the ground.
Use coloured balls too as many of the 'fairways' are covered in white rocks, making it impossible to find your ball.
It is a great activity to do while you cross and at the end your souvenir certificate is a valuable addition to your photo album of memories.
Oh yes, use old golf clubs. I got a basic set from the Op Shops for a few bucks. They get knocked around with the junk on the 'fairways'.
Have a great time
Bill

Thanks for that Bill. We were going to take old clubs, and your other hints will be helpful too.
