Hi, anyone got good advice about fixing a 20cm tear in canvas without removing the tent from the trailer.

Kind regards

have a look at thread 84064 Milko - there was a discussion about this a couple of weeks back - or try a text search and you might find more.

Hi Milkman12

I posted a similar inquiry a couple of weeks ago and got some good answers - look here

Best was I purchased a "Speedy Stitcher" - but chose not to use it this time. I thought having this stitching awl would save me when out on the road and needing to do repairs.

This is a photo of the 150mm tear I had along a seam. I took my camper to the local canvas shop here in Mandurah and he fixed it - much happier with doing it this way as all the stitches are tight and a very professional job.

Hi serendipity

Much appreciated. Looks like a great job. Tried to find someone in the ACT to do the repair without removing the canvas. No luck yet.

Cheers

We repaired a tear in our Cub by gluing a patch , inside and out, over the 3 corner tear.

It has held up well including a couple of hailstorms.

Hello Mrs S

Thanks for the info. Had thought about but wasn't sure if it would work. Based on your success I might give it a go.

Cheers

Thanks Phil B

The tear is on a flat surface away from any corners or joins.
