Hi all,

I got back Friday from my two weeks away - first solo trip. It was wonderful, nothing went wrong, car was perfect (Landcruiser 76) (must say love driving it even more than before). Even got to play in the mud a bit after some rain in Kinchega (with lovely ranger so if either of us got stuck there was help) and in the sand a few places further north (& of course not forgetting the 60kms of constant bulldust and sand between Currawinya and Bourke. That was fun)

My itinerary was Weddin Mountains, Maude, Mungo, Kinchega, Silverton, Tibooburra, Innamincka via Cameron's Corner, Currawinya and lovely little campsite Ponto Falls.

Favourite gadgets would have to be air compressor and TPM - allowing me to slightly obsess and fiddle with tyre pressures needlessly, Hema Navigator for helping me find my way without constant stopping. Least favourite thing, instant up tent - I was perfectly happy every day with the swag, tent on the one night I persevered was a bit of a waste of effort and time. I'm sticking with my swag alone from now on. (sorry hope this does not upset anyone) perfectly happy with my Cooper ST MAXX tyres - they look in great condition, no chipping from the stones (and no punctures). A big heartfelt thank you to those who provided advise (and lots via looking advice on this forum) and my local 4x4 shop (am I allowed to say??) Macquarie 4x4 you guys did great work on my car & gave good advice & I was so happy that absolutely nothing misbehaved!

Now to start planning something for after Christmas.

Sound great.
I wouldn't mind doing a trip on my own if the wife lets me go.
Thanks for sharing.
