looking purchasing either a top of the line Black Wolf self inflating mattress,or the XL top of the line 'Thermarest' model, these are both over $200.
I am slightly leaning towards the BW,as its 9.5 cm thick when inflated, over the thermarest one which is 7.5 cm.
But the Thermarest one is made in Seattle U.S,and is highly recommended over all else on another out door
forum.
Still not sure which one I should buy-its a lot of money, anyone know where the BW is made,or any advice welcomed.
Thanks!

Thermarest also have manufacturing facilities in CORK, IRELAND....
Black Wolf is an Australian brand only sold in Australia so where their gear is made is anyone guess... China or India?????
We have Thermarest,s in our swags and at 2 inches thick they are more comfortable than our $1600 mattress at
home...... I weight about 100Kg and no part of me touches the ground.
Don't know about Black Wolf warranty but Thermarest are life time and I know for a fact they will stand by it.
The difference between Thermarest and Black Wolf is.... Black Wolf is not recognised outside Australia and is sold through more budget type outlets like Anaconda and Rays.
Whether Black Wolf is as good as Thermarest who knows and if you buy a Black Wolf I'm sure you will be happy with it as you won't know what a Thermarest is like...... no use supporting the underdog if you can get a proven known trusted product instead.
Most real adventure shops carry Thermarest as a standard stock line, not many carry Black Wolf.

I have the thermarest for about 3 years now. Before that I was waking each morning with a sore back. The Thermarest is as conformable as my bed at
home. I cant comment on the BW back can guarantee you will not be disappointed with the Thermarest.
As for costs have you checked out Ebay. I bought
mine on there, a quick look I can see one for $164

I think you find they don't come with a bag.
Well mine didn't so I used the bag from a cheap model I had laying around and not in use
Good luck

Same retailer's website has a few options. If you're paying that much the Thermarest (made by
Cascade Designs) guarantee would be the clincher for me. Just make sure the surface is non-slip. Note these thick mats are VERY bulky.
