Toyota response was

"Toyota wishes to advise revisions to the front axle maximum load capacity on all Toyota Hilux 4WD vehicles produced from 2005 onwards to 1340kg.

"Vehicles fitted with Tyre size: 205R16C8PR - must increase the cold tyre inflation pressure from 240 kPa to 260 kPa to achieve this revised rating.""

so after the added kpa how much did this gain on the gvm or ccm ?

So I take it you're not a Toyota fan?

Matter of fact all 4x4 utes have this issue, reason it has not been highlighted like the Toyota's is most fleets who are going to fit out a vehicle that requires anything more what they come out of the factory with will usually goes Toyota.

Toyota increased the front axle loading to rectify this problem.

How the internet is a fantastic place for breeding ill informed information..... when the 200 series got released everyone got on the bandwagon regarding the low weight carrying capacity..... little did they know the Patrol fared worse.

So what were you saying about "Toyota tough"..... at least they address the problem and not hide behind the spokespersons skirt!

Now only if the others fixed their broken chassis and spring mounts it would be a better world.....
