G'day Keith W
Sakura filters are often the same as OE supplied filters, made by Sakura for OE purposes.
Donaldson filters, make filters for a variety of makes and models and have filter kits to suite many vehicles. They claim same quality or better than OE. World wide company and use. Kits usually about the same as you quoted and can be purchased at truck dealers in your area. Contact Donaldson to find where, they are very helpful.
Sakura are Japanese but made in Malaysia or Indonesia under licence.
Donaldson and Fleetguard are often made to licence specs but made in China. Most stuff is, although some of the cheaper filters items come from unkown sources in China.
A controlled source is OK and most vehicles are running around using Filters from one of these three countries.

The single most important thing to know IS.
Buy where the truckies
shop......they will not tolerate crappy filters and everybody that walks in the door is considered trade, because most owner drivers do their own maintenance.
The sacura filters are not at all shabby, they are
well regarded and yes made in In Indonesia by the ADR group .....the factory is truly massive....
Interestingly an ADR group company is the agent for Donaldson in Indonesia
There are several good truck parts companies up here in QLD....QLD diesel spares is my local
I pay arround $16 for a sakura C1112 equavelant to a Z334 that suits some hilux diesels and lots of landcrusers.
BTW..when you
shop for oil.....do the same
shop where the truckies
shop.....fuel depots will give you the best price on oil.
If you are running a pre common rail diesel,
Caltex dello,
Mobil Devlac and Shell Rimular are the top oils in the market.....all 3 are mixed fleet oils and designed to meet spec and run in petrol engines too
All three should be had in 20 litres for arround the $100
I get a 20 liter of Dello 400 for
well under $100 from my local
caltex depot........but they wont give you the price over the phone.
If you are running a later model engine with DPF you may need to step up the range....all 3 brands have a range of oils to meet the spec.
cheers
