Camped for a couple nights at Wellington Dam couple years back, is a good spot.

Hi There! I suggest you also try to consider honeymoon pool. It is a great place for camping and it is near the river. Enjoy!

Yeah you're right Rowdy6032. Thanks for that. But I just haven't tried going on a caravan trip near Collie. For me honeymoon pool is also a great place to be considered when camping.

I think it is the nicest camping area by far in the vicinity of Collie.

In a single axle van you might even get away with it during the week but you would probably take up 2 bays.

The Ranger may take a dim view of it if he came across you.

Hi Brian

An alternative would be to camp at Grimwade between Collie & Balingup. It's an old mill town (now abandoned) but has a nice dam and quite a good cleared campground. No facilities though.

Hi again Brian

We did intend overnighting at Welliongton Dam last year but when we arrived virtually the whole area had been taken over by a school group. Tents and teenagers everywhere.

As we were on our way back to Perth from a southern wildflower trip we deciided to bite the bullet and continue all the way home.

Cheers
